Papers of Richard Henry Wagner, 1970-1976.

The collection documents the creation of Wagner's book, Environment and Man, the first text to comprehensively examine environmental issues. It includes research materials, correspondence, photographs and negatives, book reviews, galley proofs, note cards, and revisions for the second edition. The materials cover a wide range of environmental issues. Most of the correspondence is with W.W. Norton & Company, publisher of Environment and Man. Other correspondence is from individuals who commented on the book after its publication. Includes photographs used as illustrations in the book. Also, includes a survey questionnaire and replies sent out by W.W. Norton & Company to professors at universities across the country who were teaching environmental courses.
